HEYS! GUESS WAD?! oh man u all r SO gonna love this!! really! trust dis little gal!(okiez mayb not little, quite old compared 2 most of u)
DID U NOE DAT THE MOON IS A SATELLITE?! hahas yesterday kai en told me den i didnt believe..hahas den i told myself i would answer my doubts by looking it up..after bothering him VERY long..i thought he would noe wad..& REALLY!! THE MOON IS A SATELLITE!!
The Moon (Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite and the fifth largest natural satellite in the Solar System.(taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon)
so wad is a satellite? let me answer dat as well:P im SO PROUD OF MYSELF!! seldom im so excited abt stuff de lehz..except cute stuff lahz but dats not the point..the point is....
A satellite can be defined as any object, either manmade or naturally occurring, that orbits around something else. For example, the moon orbits around Earth and is thus a satellite. The Earth orbits around the sun and is a satellite of the sun. Other examples of naturally occurring satellites include comets, stars, asteroids, and other planets(taken from http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-satellite.htm)
& wad is a star?
A star is an object that shines by releasing energy from nuclear reactions at its core.(taken from http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC063368/the_stars.htm)
& y do stars twinkle?
Their famous twinkle is the result of our earth's atmosphere, which, amongst other things, generates turbulence. As the atmosphere broils it bends, or refracts, the light from the star in different directions. This causes the star's image to change slightly in brightness and position, which our eyes pick up as a flicker, or twinkle. The scientific name for the twinkling of stars is stellar scintillation or astronomical scintillation.(taken from http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Article2869.html)
& is the sun really a ball of fire like they say?
The Sun is a star—the closest one to Earth. It is a large ball of very hot gas. The air we breathe and the Helium in a balloon are both gases. It is over 5,500 °C at the surface, and much hotter at the center, about 15 million °C. The Sun is made of mostly hydrogen (70%) and helium (28%). It turns much hydrogen into helium every second, thus creating heat and light.(taken from http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikijunior_Solar_System/The_Sun)
and oh i absolutely LOVE DIS!! the sun's origin, oso found from the net..
According to God’s Word, the Bible, the sun did not always light the earth. It wasn’t made till Day 4 of Creation Week, while the earth was created on Day 1. This refutes ideas like ‘God used evolution’ and ‘God created over billions of years’, because they all assert that the sun arose before the earth.1 For the first three days of existence, the earth was lit by the light created on Day 1 (Genesis 1:3), while the day/night cycle was caused by the earth’s rotation relative to this directional light source.
Then according to Genesis 1:14–19:
‘And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.’
And in the New Jerusalem, there will also be no need for the sun, because God will provide the light once again (Revelation 21:23). But meanwhile, we can appreciate the wonder of the star God has provided for us. (taken from http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v22/i1/sun.asp)
